How to set up arrival alerts your family will actually use

The best arrival alerts are the ones you barely notice until they matter. Here’s how to choose the right places, agree on them together and save the calls for saying hi.

“Where are you?” usually comes from love. Asked five times a day, it starts to feel like checking up. Arrival alerts can replace most of those calls, if you set them up with care. Here’s a simple way to do it.

Start with two or three places

Choose the places where an arrival changes your day: home, school, practice. More is not better. Every alert asks for a little of your attention, and a few that matter get read while dozens get ignored.

In Zintrox, these are Safe Zones: places you set, like school or home. Smart Places lets you know when they arrive. Each plan includes a different number of Safe Zones, so start with the ones you need most.

Choose them together

Set the places with your family, not about them. Sit down with the phone between you and pick them together. Explain what changes: “When you get to practice, I’ll know, so I won’t need to call.”

People accept a tool more easily when they helped shape it. In Zintrox, location is shared only after each person allows it. Then you choose who sees what, person by person.

Agree on what an alert means

An arrival alert says one thing: they got there. Agree on what you’ll do with it, which is usually nothing at all.

Important
A missing alert is not an emergency on its own. Location and alerts depend on the device, connectivity, signal, battery and other conditions. A late alert should lead to a message, not to panic.

Keep devices ready

Alerts only work when the device does. Make charging part of the evening routine. If your child carries a Zintrox Tag, Trox warns you when it runs low and reminds them to charge it.

Review once a month

Routines change: a new school year, a new activity, a new friend’s house. Once a month, review your places together and remove the ones you no longer need.

What arrival alerts are not

Zintrox does not replace emergency services or adult supervision. If someone is in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number first. Read our Safety + Emergency Disclaimer.
